K.P. Nandini

K.P. Nandini is one of a handful of stellar upcoming artists who pursue vocal and instrumental in the field of Carnatic music today. She first began her training under her mother Smt. Uma Prabhakar for vocal music and Smt Lalitha Raghavan for violin. For one year, she learned from the legendary violin maestro Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. Currently she is undergoing training in vocal music from Smt Ranjani and Smt Gayatri. When asked her favorite ragam is, the singer says without hesitation, "Karaharapriya!". A great fan of Tamizh compositions, she plans to present many tamizh kritis at her upcoming vocal concerts this season. The singer/violinist is most looking forward to listening to a lot of the great vidwans of today, including her peers. But most of all, she anticipates listening to her gurus this season. Aside from vocal concerts, she is set to accompany in over 28 concerts throughout the season.
