Ramakrishnan Murthy

Vocalist Ramakrishnan Murthy is a rising start in today's Carnatic Music Field. The American native had his formal training begin at age 8 under Smt. Padma Kutty in Irvine, CA. In 2001, he began his advanced training from Sri Delhi Sunderrajan. Along the way, he had the rare opportunity to learn form many great vidwans such as Late Vairamangalam Sri Lakshminarayanan, Late Chengalpet Sri Ranganathan, and Palai Sri C.K. Ramachandran. The singer who has approximately 12-14 concerts lined up for the season is looking forward to meeting all his mates from back home who will be joining in for the Music season this year. When asked if he has a favorite ragam or composition, he remarks, "How can one choose! They are all beautiful in their own way!" When asked if he has focused on any one aspect of music, this artist says, "Well, I have generally just been attempting to learn as many compositions as possible, mainly of the trinity. It is an endless ocean out there!"
